Susan Russell awarded the Ted King prize at BOHS annual conferenceDate: 05/05/2010
Susan joined Environmental Evaluation in 2002 after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Environmental Geoscience. Initially she specialised in asbestos surveying firstly in our Luton office and subsequently in Oldham. She extended her competencies to air testing and project management and was awarded certified competent person status in the field of asbestos consultancy in 2005. Susan transferred to the general occupational hygiene team in 2006 and over the several years obtained several qualifications from the BOHS which culminated in the award of the Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene in 2009. Susan also holds the Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement form the Institute of Acoustics; she is a Licenciate of the Faculty in Occupational Hygiene (LFOH) and a Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences. Since 2009 Susan has been deputy manager of Environmental Evaluation's Occupational Hygiene team, which contains six consultants who hold the Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene or the Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene, and two technicans with relevant specialist qualifications. Environmental Evaluation's occupational hygiene team are experienced in assisting clients to comply with health and safety legislation such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations. We routinely undertake COSHH assessments, measurement of exposure to hazardous substances and provide advice on suitable control of risk.
