Ergonomic & Manual Handling Assessments
We undertake ergonomic assessments of DSE workstations, assembly operations, manual handling tasks etc using a qualified and experienced ergonomist.
Our assessments follow the latest relevant HSE guidance including:
L23 – Manual Handling
L26 – Work with Display Screen Equipment
HSG60 – Upper Limb Disorders in the workplace
HSG121 – A pain in your workplace? Ergonomic problems and solutions
Our ergonomic assessment process involves observing and documenting current task requirements, including:
- Posture adopted
- Movement Frequency
- Work periods (interaction with other employees)
- Interface with operator
- Affecting factors e.g. noise, vibration
- Appropriateness of design for the task being done
- Temperature, noise, air quality, lighting
- Layout, access
The findings are documented in department/ task-based assessments detailing the observations made, indication of risk factors and overall degree of risk.
The assessment results are reported along with practical advice on remedial measures and follow up training sessions for staff when required.
