COSHH Risk Assessment

Environmental Evaluation can undertake full COSHH risk assessments of substances that are hazardous to health as required by Regulation 6 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (CoSHH).

All COSHH risk assessments are undertaken by qualified and experienced occupational hygienists.

The stages in producing the task based assessments are generally as follows:

  1. Review all substances in use and obtain health and safety data sheets from the suppliers/manufacturers. Identify substances which could be generated during the work processes.
  2. Observe and document full details of the manner in which the substances are stored, handled and used, and the processes involved.
  3. Determine the potential exposure routes for all the substances as they are used or are generated, and the degree of exposure.
  4. Identify control measures in use and assess their effectiveness.

Environmental Evaluation can assist in your compliance with the COSHH regulations by providing further services including;

  • workplace exposure monitoring
  • local exhaust ventilation examination and testing
  • practical, cost effective recommedations to control exposures
  • COSHH awareness training

We can also train and support you and your staff to carry out your own assessments and to implement systems in-house.
